By way of foreword, let me explain that my parents are faithful Christians who hold to the belief that humans were created to live forever on this earth, with no suffering. They are highly critical of my practice of Falun Dafa. I wrote down some insights I had on the matter, and shared them with them.
Life is abundant and complex. Plants are alive, so are insects and humans and spirits. What differentiates a spirit being from a human being? Both are in fact constructed of energy at their core, energy that came from the exact same source, a benevolent source. Then what differentiates a spirit being from a human being? Humans have a body constructed of these molecules and physical cells. This whole physical dimension is just made like that. However, the purest finest form of life and energy is not limited to existing in molecules and physical cells.
Our human body is complex and has a tendency to break down. If the wrong substance from our environment is absorbed into the body’s system, things break down and chaos ensues. If a tree falls on someone, his bones may break. If a spider bites someone, his body can get sick and even die. There are a myriad of things interwoven into this physical environment, which, by its very nature, can cause beings pain and harm. However, in a higher dimension, isn’t it impossible for a spirit to be harmed by its environment? That’s just something that happens on the plane of everyday people.
God created this physical dimension, and this time and space. All those elements were in fact formed out of energy, with no limitation on its structure. If humans were meant to live in perfection with no hardship, couldn’t these things have been constructed in a different manner? In a higher dimension, things can pass through other things without being affected or harmed. In this physical dimension of humankind, why were these limitations placed in this environment? Even a perfectly functioning human with no illness has pain sensors specifically designed to send signals of unpleasantness to a person’s awareness. In an environment created with different limitations, that pain would be completely unnecessary.
If there were no reason for such limitations, such possibility for pain, wouldn’t that have been so cruel to create? Energy existing in its purest form, alive and wonderfully free, suddenly thrust into a situation that could not extend beyond a certain physical space. Moreover, with pain sensors hardwired into the body, where the awareness must stay in the body without the freedom to leave, doesn’t it sound like a prison?
Thus, the human body was not created to live a life free from suffering, even at a perfect optimal state. In fact, the human body and environment was created precisely to live in the midst of suffering.
One reason Falun Dafa practitioners can transcend the limitations that bind most people is because we understand the principles at a higher level of existence, which is in fact energy which is not bound to the limitations of our physical dimension constructed of molecules. Moreover, the place where we as humans came from, dynamic energy without limitation is in fact existent simultaneously with our physical body. At a deeper level, it is what still makes up our physical body. Humans are separated from the source that constitutes their very beings by matter and substances which do not conform to the original characteristic of that from which they are formed. When that higher form of energy is cultivated and purified, secrets are unlocked and man can reach a state closer to the very origin of the original benevolent energy.
This is only my own understanding at this point in my cultivation. After reading this to them, their initial response was positive, but then my father raised his voice and tried to find fault with what I had said. I feel that the logic I wrote is strong, however I look within and understand that perhaps they cannot enlighten to the principles of the Fa because I still have some attachments relating to them that need to be broken. The home environment I’ve grown up in has been a magnificent difficult cultivation environment. As a Fa rectification disciple, I feel that, while helping to clarify the truth to the people of the world, there is still a need to validate the Fa further in the home environment.
