[PureInsight.org] Someone once asked me, "How many Falun Gong practitioners are there in the city where you live?"
I replied, "I know about a dozen of Falun Gong practitioners in the city, but there must be many Falun Gong practitioners in my area that I don't know of. As Falun Gong does not require any membership, and all of its activities are completely free of charge, I don't really know the exact number of Falun Gong practitioners in the city."
The story of Bill perfectly illustrates that Falun Gong does not have any organization or membership.
In the summer or autumn of 2000, a fellow Falun Gong practitioner learned that a small town near my residential city holds the tomato festival every year so he applied for a booth at the festival to introduce Falun Gong to the public. We took turns helping with the booth during the tomato festival. One day my husband returned from his shift at the booth and told me in surprise, "Did you know that a westerner in that small town has been practicing Falun Gong for over a year?"
"How could it be? We have never been to that town to promote Falun Gong. How did he find out about Falun Gong?" I asked.
My husband said, "Stop interrupting and I will tell you all about it. Today a middle-aged westerner lady came to our booth and chatted with me for a very long time. She asked me a lot of questions about Falun Gong, such as 'Why did the Chinese Communist government decide to persecute Falun Gong?' After clarifying the truth to her for a long time, she finally understood the truth about Falun Gong and about Jiang Zemin's persecution. I had a feeling that she has had these questions for a long time. I felt there was something different about this lady because westerners don't usually have this level of questions, especially a westerner residing in a small town. They usually just ask what Falun Gong means. So I asked the lady, 'Why are you so interested in Falun Gong?' She told me that her husband has been practicing Falun Gong at home by himself for over a year. Then I asked, 'How did you find out about Falun Gong?' She said that about a year ago, a Chinese lady had given her husband a copy of Falun Gong's exercise instruction videotape."
"It must be Wen. Not too many practitioners in our area practice the Falun Gong exercises outdoors. She often practices the exercises outdoors." As soon as I said these words, I was overcome with embarrassment. I have done so little to validate Falun Gong while there are so many people who have predestined relationships with Falun Gong and are waiting to obtain the Fa.
"The lady left her husband's name and telephone number with me. Here it is." My husband showed me his note.
"Bill? Why does the name sound so familiar?" I made an effort to recall all the places I have been to since we moved to Canada. Then I suddenly remembered that I once attended a job-hunting workshop shortly after I moved to Canada. I remember about a dozen people attended the workshop. Most of them were immigrants to Canada and only two were Canadian-born westerners. I searched my telephone book and found the name and phone number of everyone that had attended the workshop on a worn page in my telephone book. I have a good habit of keeping all of my contacts, even the ones I haven't contacted in years. At the end of the list, I found Bill's name and telephone number. The number was the same as the one given to my husband. In my memory, Bill was a burly middle-aged man who joked a lot. I don't remember how I brought up Falun Gong in our conversation, but I remember giving him a copy of Falun Gong's exercise instruction videotape. It turned out it was not Wen that gave him the videotape, it was I. Little did I expect that he would actually start practicing Falun Gong. Nor did I expect to hear about his persisting in practicing Falun Gong a year later.
In hindsight, I have introduced Falun Gong to nearly everyone I have met in a natural way which was acceptable to the other person. But you can never tell how many of those people that you met only once or twice will actually practice Falun Gong afterwards like Bill did.
There are 100 million Falun Gong practitioners worldwide. Like me, they introduce Falun Gong to other people with every opportunity they have. This is how the number of people practicing Falun Gong quickly increased to 100 million. The Chinese Communist regime is the only government in the world that persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. We don't know how people truly feel about Falun Gong after we introduce Falun Gong to them. We don't know how many people start learning Falun Gong each day. But when a person starts to practice Falun Gong, it is not a coincidence. It is the result of his predestined relationship with Falun Gong.
