For a long time, fewer and fewer people in human society seem to have held on to the idea of karmic retribution – this is coupled with a decline in human morality. Thus, even if people did have some vague idea that “good will be rewarded with good, evil will be requited with evil” (or “what goes around comes around), they would stray from the genuine criterion and thus be unable to judge whether their actions are truly good or bad.
Nonetheless, a limited understanding of this principle can be found in a type of currently recognized physical theory that states that ‘every action has an equal and opposite reaction.’ However, it falls short of including the critical component: humankind’s moral interactions.
What is the standard for measuring good and bad? The teachings of Falun Dafa illustrate this clearly. In Zhuan Falun, it says “This characteristic, Zhen-Shan-Ren [Truth, truthfulness - Compassion, benevolence, kindness – Tolerance, forbearance, endurance], is the criterion for measuring good and bad in the universe. What’s good or bad? It is judged by this” (Zhen-Shan-Ren is the sole criterion to discern good and bad people, Lecture One, Zhuan Falun).
But what ‘proof’ is there that this is what it purports to be?
The current persecution of Dafa in Mainland China is an attempt to use very vicious and inhumane means to eradicate Falun Dafa and invalidate the criterion Zhen-Shan-Ren.
But let us discuss karmic retribution: all those evil deeds, will they not meet evil returns? Many such phenomena have already been witnessed in China: a policeman viciously beats practitioners, then mysteriously dies as soon as a few hours later. There are already many such examples in this regard.
Some may think that these are mere coincidences. However, what would you think if all those who have taken part in this persecution received due retribution? Indeed, there are many records of names of those who have persecuted Falun Dafa, and they are archived on the Clearwisdom website: this phenomenon can then be verified with eyewitness accounts, hospital records, or first-hand reports.
Moreover, other people in the world who commit bad deeds that go against the criterion of Zhen-Shan-Ren will also receive retribution from their own karma created by all those bad deeds. This could manifest in any of the many ways that human beings suffer: illness, natural disasters, accidents, wars, etc.
This type of large-scale manifestation of the principle of karmic retribution will provide ample evidence for skeptics, and at the same time enable humankind to seriously re-consider all these matters.
