[PureInsight.org] A law recently passed in the United Kingdom (UK) now prohibits forcibly-harvested organs from prisoners of conscience such as Falun Gong practitioners from entering the UK.
On February 11, 2021, the UK’s “Medicines and Medical Devices Bill” amendment formally became law.
A member of the British House of Lords, Lord Philip Hunt of Kings Heath, initiated this amendment. In an interview with the English Epoch Times reporter Lily Zhou, he indicated that this law now provides “an opportunity for ministers to prevent organs or human tissues brought from other countries from entering the UK without formal consent."
"As far as China is concerned, this means that organs from Uyghurs and Falun Gong practitioners cannot be brought into the UK without formal consent.”
He said that he hoped the CCP would stop using forcibly-harvested organs. "Although this is a small step, it is an important step in the UK and the international community. This clearly emphasizes that the use of forced organ donation is completely abominable. We hope to see this behavior stop."
In March 2020, the China Tribunal in London, UK issued a final judgment, which concluded that “…forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale and that Falun Gong practitioners have been one - and probably the main - source of organ supply."
“The concerted persecution and medical testing of the Uyghurs is more recent.”
The report also said, “The Tribunal has had no evidence that the significant infrastructure associated with China’s transplantation industry has been dismantled and absent a satisfactory explanation as to the source of readily available organs concludes that forced organ harvesting continues till today.”
According to information provided by the Minghui website, millions of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners have been arbitrarily arrested, imprisoned, or sentenced in China without any due legal procedures since July 1999. Many people have been tortured, killed, or subjected to live organ harvesting.
Forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was initially exposed in 2006. Over the past decade, the international community has issued multiple resolutions, bills, and reports condemning and calling for an end to the CCP’s actions.
On March 3, 2021, Loudoun County, Virginia, USA passed a resolution in support of Falun Gong. The resolution said, “It is reported that Falun Gong practitioners have suffered the longest prison sentences, the most serious abuses including mental and physical torture, and the unethical removal of human organs without consent.”
Lord Philip Hunt expressed that he hopes to take action to stop the CCP's forced organ harvesting.
He said, "Of course we should do whatever we can to make the Chinese authorities really stop this practice."
