[PureInsight.org] On Thursday, May 6, fifteen dignitaries from Ontario, Canada, and the Senate and House of Representatives from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia sent congratulatory letters for the 29th World Falun Dafa Day. They praised Falun Gong practitioners for their faith in truth, compassion and tolerance, extending their thanks for what practitioners have done throughout the pandemic.
The City of Milton and City of Cornwall in Ontario, Canada proclaimed May 13 as "Falun Dafa Day".
Clement, Mayor of Cornwall County, said in the award: " Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is an advanced cultivation practice system for mind, body, and spirit based on the guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance; and
has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving health in mind body and spirit, and to enhancing the well-being of people from all walks of society, who follow its tenets; and the physical and spiritual benefits of Falun Dafa is embraced by people from over 100 countries."
Ed Holder, Mayor of London, Ontario, thanked Falun Gong practitioners for their efforts in the epidemic.
The congratulatory letter said: “I would like to thank you for your industrious work and your continuing efforts of finding ways during this pandemic to help improve people’s spiritual, mental, and physical well-being through meditative exercises and moral teachings, thus promoting harmony and health in society. We’re all in this together and we will get through this together.”
Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward said, “Falun Dafa practitioners have undoubtedly helped Canadians during these difficult times by offering free meditation exercise instruction in communities and online classes. This is more valued than ever in these challenging times as we know the connection between mind and body is key for a healthy immune system and to combat illness and stress.”
Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara wrote, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are the founding principles of Falun Dafa. During these difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are reminded how important these values are and we should all try to incorporate them in our daily lives.”
Kingston City Councillor Lisa Osanic signed up for Falun Gong online teaching course.
The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida announced that May 13 is "Thanksgiving Falun Dafa Day.
The Governor of Pennsylvania and the Mayor of Philadelphia also sent congratulatory letters.
