[PureInsight.org] Tang Seng, a well-known character in the book, Xi You Ji (Journey to the West), is also referred to as Jinchanzi. According to Chapter 100 in Xi You Ji, Buddha Sakyamuni told Jinchanzi, “You were once my disciple in your previous reincarnation. Because of neglecting my teaching and disrespecting the Buddha Fa, your soul was demoted to the East for reincarnation.”
From this example, we know that cultivation has indeed been regarded very seriously throughout history. Today, Dafa has even higher requirements for us on our cultivation path and in our attitude towards the Fa. That is, our cultivation path is very narrow and not even a slight deviation is allowed.
Once during a sharing, a practitioner said, “I am very busy every day. Sometimes when I was very busy, I even read Zhuan Falun when going to the bathroom.” We then had a discussion on this. In fact, no matter how busy we are and what we do, we have to respect the Fa. The Fa is the foundation of everything in this cosmos; how can we disrespect it? When disrespecting the Fa, we are actually harming ourselves.
I remember a time when I was doing the exercises at Longsha Park in China. I was very diligent and sometimes even spent six hours doing the standing exercises. However, my Fa-study was relatively limited and could not keep up. As a result, my xinxing did not improve much. Fa-study and xinxing improvement are very critical, and they are relatively more important than the exercises. During a time of constant Fa-study, the capacity of my heart was enlarged and my righteous thoughts were strengthened. When encountering tribulations during this time, I was able to regard the Fa as Teacher and it was very easy to overcome tests. In fact, this was just the phenomena on the surface. A deeper reason was that everything of ours is given to us by Master and the Fa is the foundation of everything.
When faced with this current society with degenerated moral values, it is very important for us to have a clear mind. In the beginning, I did not pay attention to Fa-study. I only knew on the surface that Dafa is good, but failed to realize the importance and seriousness of Fa-study.
In Hong Yin Vol. II, Master said, “Don’t let up in studying the Fa; amidst it transformation happens.” With continual Fa-study, I gradually came to understand that everything in the world is transient. No matter how much fortune or what a prestigious social status one has, it will not last long.
I used to have a dream in which Master asked me to walk along a cliff next to a deep abyss. I was scared since there was no other path. Later, I thought I had to walk it through. So I did more Fa-study and always improved my xinxing. Then in the dream, I continued walking with courage and found the deep abyss no longer existed. Instead, I was walking among the white clouds—I was walking on the path towards Heaven. This is the difference between an everyday person and a diligent cultivator—this difference comes from the degree of Fa-study.
The massive slandering propaganda by the evil CCP has deceived people throughout the world. As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples with indestructible faith in the Fa, we have walked the arduous path up till today. One may swear at us or beat us, but he cannot say bad words about Dafa. This is because Dafa is great and everything comes from the compassion of Master.
When opening Zhuan Falun every evening, all my unhappiness immediately disappears. The chaotic and noisy environment seems far away from me. I am able to calm down when studying the Fa and let every cell my mine immerse and dissolve in the Fa. This is not only for ourselves, but also for the future of sentient beings.
Fundamentally speaking, the old forces do not respect the Fa and they created difficulty for the Fa-rectification. Were we not to respect the Fa, we would be essentially similar to them and be unable to ascend from the old cosmos. Therefore, we have to pay attention to Fa-study and do it well. As long as we continue studying the Fa and study the Fa more, we are making improvements. Therefore, we have to study the Fa no matter how busy we are.
