[PureInsight.org] Recently, some practitioners told me that the percentage of tickets that are sold for a Divine Performing Arts (DPA) performance is the same as the percentage of practitioners who have participated in sales that area. From conversations I had with them, it seemed that how many tickets are sold depends on the proportion of practitioners who participated in selling them. At first, I agreed with their thoughts. But after thinking deeply about this, I have changed my understanding.
Previously, I had focused on those practitioners who had not stepped forward and believed that tickets had not been sold because of their actions. Later, I found that this was an incorrect understanding due to not studying the Fa well enough. When we encounter difficulties, we should search internally instead of blaming others. What do these practitioners who have not stepped forward have to do with me? When I searched internally, I found that I indeed did not care enough about their cultivation and should have instead communicated with and helped these practitioners.
However, did I really look at myself and find my own problem? In Zhuan Falun it states, “What’s not a right mind? It refers to a person’s inability to always treat himself as a practitioner” (Lecture Six, “Your Mind Must Be Right”). If we only focus on doing things instead of on saving people, or if we do not try hard enough to save people, then we do not meet the standard of a genuine, true practitioner.
At the same time, I have found out that I often have criticism about other practitioners and comments about them in my mind. This has kept me at a certain distance from them. Yet, this kind of thinking has caused poor coordination between practitioners.
If practitioners are struggling to find their attachments, we need to show mercy. We should help them understand the Fa better and help them walk their path of cultivation well. Doing so not only aids coordination among practitioners, but also aids in the salvation of sentient beings.
Therefore, the real factors that affect the DPA ticket-selling process are our own issues and the attachments we have not let go of in our cultivation. If all practitioners first looked inside when they encountered a problem, then any problem could be solved because we would be maintaining right mind of a practitioner.
Another understanding I wish to share is that some practitioners hurry to sell tickets before the show starts. This is a reasonable thought, but many practitioners have the mindset of an ordinary person when they are hurriedly trying to sell tickets, which could lead to a bad result. It is my personal understanding that we should treat ticket selling as saving sentient beings, instead of as a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. During our paths of cultivation, we should always keep in mind that we are practitioners of Falun Dafa and should eliminate ordinary human thinking. In fact, not only selling tickets to ordinary people, but also all the things that we are working on are for the salvation of mankind. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain right thoughts, stay calm, and remain peaceful.
