[PureInsight.org] In the afternoon of Oct. 22th, the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra performed at the Music Center at Strathmore, Maryland. On the eve of the show, Isiah Leggett, the Montgomery county governor sent an appreciation letter to the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra.
Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra has performed four consecutive years at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC since 2013. It was the first time for them to perform at the Strathmore Music Center. As county governor, Mr. Leggett appreciated Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra for bringing a diverse and distinctive performance with happiness. The original performance combined the Eastern and Western Orthodox music perfectly and brought the diversity culture to the Montgomery County.
As the world’s top Chinese classical dance and traditional music art group, Shen Yun performance group created new miracles and received brilliant achievement continuously since 2006. It combined traditional Chinese music and the Western symphony orchestra style perfectly. Leading by Erhu, Pipa and other ancient oriental instruments, it created a refreshing movement based on the Western orchestra string, woodwind and brass.
Since September 17th, Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra began its 2017 tour at twenty cities in South Korea, Taiwan, Canada and United States. Internationally renowned pianists Tianzi Wu praised, "This is a magnificent group with magnificent music. With the power of spiritual belief, the music carries a valuable spirit.” Violinist Xianda Su used "amazing" to express his feeling, "The original music in Shen Yun performance uses lots of five-tone scale. It adds changes smartly in the rhythm. As we know, the rhythm is different between oriental and western music. Such perfect combination of the western style and oriental style would be not easy!”
The audience said that the Orchestra performance was like a long picture, including the Delicate and graceful of the progression of seasons, and the Heroic growth across battlefield. It had millennium memory in one continuous line; the pure energy radiating moral values and kindness; the divine inspiration from the combination of the people and heaven, and the compassion of the Creator ... Some people said only ancient emperors could hear this kind of music.
At 3PM of October 22, Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra performed some popular original pieces from Dvorak, Franz Von Suppe, Tchaikovsky and other Western famous composers.
