[PureInsight.org] Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University student Chunyu Gao went to Hong Kong last summer with seven other students. They made a short movie-- Brave Hong Kong Frontline-- to record the real situation of the hardships about truth clarification of Falun Gong, and communicating with the tourists at Hong Kong Street.
Chunyu said he did not do it for fun. His essential college study time was used to prepare the movie which included preparing leaflets for distribution, movie communications, exhibition, and truth clarification materials, for his relatives. He wanted to use a warm and smooth way to explain his Hong Kong trip this time.
In March, this short film was nominated in the first Golden Film Rewards for Education from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. It equaled the top five finalists in the 129 films of the student group. Although it didn’t win Chunyu said the judge gave a positive assessment in an interview, “You are different from the other contestants. They do it for fun but you are a Falun Gong practitioner and struggling for your target audience. The entire effort is different.”
In the film, student Peijun Cai from Taiwan university said, “For several months, in addition to our online meetings, we have to take care of visas and flights to Hong Kong, plus photographic equipment! Although it is very hard, we really want to show freedom information to Hong Kong people and mainland tourists. Also, we will show the frontline situation back in Taiwan.”
