A Cultivator Must Keep his Word

A Dafa Disciple in China

[PureInsight.org] A few days ago, a fellow practitioner said to me, "Someone requested 50 copies of scripture but then refused to take them after I printed them out. What should I do with these scriptures?” Looking inward, I found that I had similar problems. A few years ago, in order to enjoy watching Shen Yun at the earliest possible time, I asked a practitioner to keep 20 Shen Yun discs for me. Then I requested another 20 copies from another practitioner just in case the first one didn’t come through. Later, a third practitioner told me that she had already enjoyed watching Shen Yun several times before the local discs were even produced last year - So I then requested 20 more Shen Yun discs from her.

Eventually, I only kept 20 copies from the practitioner whom I had spoken to first. I then had to tell the other practitioners whom I had ordered another 40 Shenyun discs from, that I had it already. They criticized me for my actions and said that I had an attachment. Although I have been trying to remove this attachment, I can see it still happens often. For example, when a practitioner gave a Dafa book to another practitioner as planned; the other practitioner said he didn’t need it anymore as he had already got a copy. This was a typical manifestation of the Communist Party culture of not acting in good faith and instead, acting very selfishly. The characteristics of the evil Chinese Communist Party promote lying, deceit and evilness. Some people will say anything to get what they want. As cultivators, we should be true to ourselves and faithful in keeping our word to others.

To cultivate Truthfulness, we should at a minimum be able to keep our promises. We are cultivating the Great universal Law of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance". How could we fail to keep faith? We should do whatever we promise. If other people feel unsure of us, it means our cultivation is lacking. It is a waste of Dafa’s resources if we request something and then refuse to take it when it arrives.

"False" is also a life which is the opposite of “Truth”. It hides in different layers of our dimensional field. As long as we can recognise it and suppress it in a timely manner, it is easily eliminated - and in doing so, we are cultivating Truthfulness.
