[PureInsight.org] I find that if we want to study the Fa well, there is no clever technique or anything novel. It is related to one’s determination in studying the Fa well, bearing the Fa in mind, and relinquishing attachments. We have to cultivate these aspects to the required level.
Upon truly resolving to study the Fa diligently, I opened Zhuan Falun and was enlightened by the first phrase “Genuinely Guiding People Towards High Levels.” Since then, the phrase manifests different meanings whenever I read it. Although I was in a poor condition and passively let go of attachments, my mindset was in the right state, and the Fa manifested its supernormal principles. Before then, I thought doing projects was equivalent to elevating in level. The attachment to pursuing rewards grew in proportion to how many things I had done, and I thought I was elevating. Persecuted by the evil and not knowing what was wrong, I underwent tribulations. In order to start over, I settled my mind and focused on Fa study. As I opened Zhuan Falun, I was taken to a new realm. I became keenly aware of what Master said in Zhuan Falun, “Cultivation practice itself is not difficult, and neither is upgrading one’s level itself difficult. It is because they cannot give up the human mind that they call it difficult”. Accordingly, I understood that not giving up attachments, not knowing how to give them up, and not thoroughly relinquishing attachments hindered us from seeing the Fa’s manifestation and from substantial elevation. “If you are a true practitioner of Falun Dafa, and when you can give up your attachments, each of you will have reactions from this point on” (Zhuan Falun).
The very first manifestation of the Fa was that it created many questions I did not understand. In order to figure them out, I paid extra attention while studying the Fa. Due to my concentration, I felt no drowsiness. Throughout the course of studying the Fa, I only had a vague idea, and many more questions arose. There also seemed to be numerous dissimilar sections from past readings, and I seemed to have omitted them. I was stressed out. To resolve these queries, I immersed myself in Zhuan Falun whose magnificent Fa principles brought me to a divine realm. The first query I sought to sort out brought about much more than just an answer. I then realized that I had human notions and did not know “Different Levels Have Different Fa” (Zhuan Falun). By then, the questions that I had as I studied the Fa could be explained by the Fa. The more I studied the Fa, the more questions emerged. At first, I studied the Fa in order to obtain answers; afterwards, I found that I could remain focused. I recalled the state of studying the Fa that Master often mentioned when teaching the Fa abroad before 1999: “All of the questions you have in your first reading will be answered in your second reading. Then you will have new questions, but when you read it the third time all of those questions will again be answered” (Teaching the Fa at the Founding Ceremony of the Singaporean Falun Dafa Association). In line with Master’s lecture, I felt that I was on the right track. I underwent a process before gradually reaching the state in which all questions you have after your first reading are answered in your second reading.
I learned how to give up attachments. As an analogy, every attachment is like a balloon that allows us to float, meaning our attachments manifest. Abandoning attachments is like letting out the air inside the balloon in order to come back down. Being down to earth, one is able to find the manifestation of the Fa throughout the course of Fa study. Here is another comparison: The process of relinquishing attachments is like furling a roll-up door. If there is an attachment to seeking rewards, then the more things we do the more we think we’ve obtained powerful virtue and higher levels. It in fact only magnifies the attachments and rolls up the door, so the loopholes become bigger and bigger, which runs counter to the Fa. Furling In this case, we only imagined the high level; it was not a real elevation after we enlightened to the Fa. If we put the attachment down in accordance with the Fa requirements, then it is like pulling the door down hard. For a while, I found many attachments and eliminated them. It was like water pouring and pulling down the door. Whenever the door was shut, I seemingly heard the sound of it touching the ground, which meant I had let go of the attachment. I learned that there are always changes taking place when attachments are eliminated. The more are eliminated, the more changes occur. In relation to Fa study, it is the manifestation of the Fa. The Fa manifests and enlightens us while we study the Fa and makes us feel as though we had never seen it before.
When it comes to the Fa, we should possess a mentality of always being a first-grade student and not being influenced by attachments that allow us to float. When one’s mindset is set back to square one and down to earth, there are infinite prospects, a path that leads to other dimensions. There were times when my mindset was about to be in place when letting go of an attachment, but it couldn’t reach the ground. When it flew up a bit, I put more effort to put it back down. When my mindset was in place, I could sense the correspondence, and it was like reaching a trigger, entering another dimension without stopping. It was again the manifestation of the Fa. I must be “sure-footed”, a term that illustrates the preparation of five thousand years of civilization for the Fa’s validation.
From the Fa, we learned that ordinary people must pursue when they want to something, whereas if we want to obtain something from the Fa, we must relinquishing. I told a fellow practitioner that ascending felt like pushing down hard. The aforementioned was elaborated from the perspective of letting go of attachments. To put down the heart is to ascend. Every time one puts the attachment down, one ascends.
The above are some experiences about Fa study and giving up attachments. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
