Historical records show that it has taken no more than ten thousand years for this cycle of human civilization of ours to develop from the most primitive days of Stone Age to today's highly developed modern society. However, judging from unearthed relics, such as the 2 billion year-old large-scale nuclear reactor found in Gabon Republic, and the 2.8 billion year-old metal ball found in South Africa, human beings and highly developed civilizations have existed on the earth since very remote prehistoric times. Obviously, none of these historic relics belong to this human civilization of ours, and, thus, they belong to different periods of civilizations. Scientists have, therefore, brought forward the theory of prehistoric cultures, which argues that there has been more than one period of civilization on the earth. They think that the development of human civilization is cyclical; different civilizations have existed during different periods of time on the earth.
Prehistoric civilizations have been destroyed by all kinds of catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods, volcano eruptions, collisions with aerplite or comets, elevation or sinking of continental plates, and the sudden climate changes. These catastrophes destroyed the civilization of the time and extinguished most species, leaving only very few cultural relics. All these prehistoric human beings and their civilizations vanished on the earth. How were these civilizations eliminated? And why? We can find some clues from unearthed prehistoric relics.
1. Numerous prehistoric civilizations have been destroyed
1.1 Atlantis sank to the sea bottom 12 thousand years ago.
Atlantis was a continent with highly developed civilizations. About 11,600 years ago, it sank to the sea bottom because of a catastrophic earthquake that shook the whole world. Some scholars think that it could have been located in the South China Sea. The sea there is very shallow, with the average depth of only 60 meters. Only the tallest mountains on Atlantis still remain above water, and became today's Indonesia.
1.2 Sunken relics
About 200 meters deep in the sea near the Peruvian coast, people found some stone columns with inscriptions and huge buildings. Outside the Strait of Gibraltar, in the Atlantic sea, eight photos have been taken successfully, in which one can see clearly the wall and stone steps of an ancient castle. They sank almost 10 thousand years ago. On the sea bottom to the west of the Bermuda Triangle, a huge pyramid was found. Obviously, these relics that represent the splendid civilizations of prehistoric human beings sank to the sea bottom because the continents on which they were once located sank into the sea.
1.3 The description of a prehistoric flood
About 12 thousand years ago, the last period of human civilization suffered a huge flood, which also caused the sinking of continents. Over the years, archaeologists have found a lot of direct or indirect evidence of that flood. The legends of many different old nations around the world have recorded that, in the very remote past, a huge flood happened on the earth that ruined all of the civilizations of the human race, with only a few people surviving. There are more than 600 legends that talk about the flood. In China, Japan, India, Australia, Greece, Egypt, and among the aborigines in Africa, South America and North America, there are many legends of different peoples that have recorded the memory of that flood. Although these legends came from different peoples and cultures, they have extremely similar stories and heroes. All of this evidence cannot be explained by mere coincidence.
There are some descriptions of that flood in the Holy Bible. Although the Bible is a religious book, many scholars think it talks about the real history of the human race. Here are some excerpts from the Bible:
"The flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth".
"And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. And on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Four months later was the earth dried."
That flood, together with the sinking of an entire continent, completely destroyed all human civilization on the earth. Only very few people survived. Many prehistoric relics that have been found by archaeologists recently suggest that the continent of Atlantis, recorded by ancient Greek culture, may have been destroyed by that flood.
1.4 Frozen suddenly —remains in the frozen earth of Siberia
In the frozen earth in Siberia, scientists have found remains of thousands of frozen mammals. Some of them are very complete; some are torn into pieces and twisted together with tree trunks. The scientists checked the remaining food in their stomachs, and found undigested grasses that should have belonged to the temperate zone. The suddenly dropped temperature changed the temperate zone into frozen earth. This incredibly ruinous disaster happened within a very short time, freezing all the living things on the grassland in their present locations. (to be continued)
