Clarify the truth to Chinese people on Internet

Greetings Master, Greetings fellow practitioners. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my experience with you.

1. To clarify the truth to the precious Chinese people is my undeniable duty.

I went to Russia during the Thanksgiving holiday to help Russian practitioners prepare the “Path of the Righteous Fa” exhibit. During that time, due to limited Internet access, I seldom read Minghui website articles. One day, in a practitioner’s home in Moscow, I read Minghui’s editorial, “Make the best use of time to clarify the truth to the precious Chinese people.” After reading this, I thought deeply about it. I had been living in a city in New Hampshire for a few years. Almost everybody I talked to about Falun Dafa was American. Very occasionally did I talk to Chinese people, not to mention Chinese people in China. I even rarely talked to my family and friends in China about Dafa. I read the editorials a number of times. I was moved by the unknown background and history behind Chinese people and deeply touched by the compassion expressed in the articles.

Thinking about myself, I had been just the same as them -- deluded and lost in this world, suffering the living pain within the Three Realms, and had committed an enormous amount of karma. Yet those supreme Lords, Kings of sacred Fa, are still lost and suffering here, not obtaining the Fa after finally being able to reincarnate in China at the time when Dafa is being spread. Their lives and their futures are directly related to the futures of many cosmic systems and the sentient beings of those cosmic systems. I remembered that Master had previously mentioned the importance of clarifying the truth to Chinese people on a number of occasions, but I didn’t actually realize the importance and the pressing nature of this matter

2. Let go of “self” and cherish sentient beings.

I remember that the first time when I was chatting with people on the Internet, the best word to describe my feeling at the time was “filthy”. Although in terms of Fa principles I understood we should save people, my human side told me it was very difficult to develop compassion for these people. I even felt a little regret for having chosen such a method to clarify the truth. No matter how I tried, I just couldn’t relate the people I was chatting with to the sentient beings who are “lost and suffering in the Three Realms or the human world and are waiting for the Fa.” I was indeed distressed by this for a period of time. Later, an experience changed me. In one chat room, a guy who was very senseless and bored kept yelling so somebody could say something fun to keep him interested because he’d already spent the whole night online. As soon as I started talking, he kept nagging me as if he’d found his last hope and kept asking me to tell him a story. I really didn’t enjoy this and wanted to leave but I was able to control myself. Later, he wanted to chat with me in private. I said, “If you want to chat with me, it’ll have to be a topic that I pick.” He agreed. Then slowly I started talking to him about Falun Gong. To my surprise, he stopped acting senselessly and was listening seriously, and his words gradually became more polite and courteous. Later on, he invited me to talk in his chat room. I know this was a hint Master gave me, to change my thinking. Once again, I was grateful for Master’s compassion. From that time on, I was able to stay calm and focused on clarifying the truth on the internet.

The fact is, sentient beings’ negative feelings and “hatred” against Dafa is forced upon them by the evil forces. Think about it, a high level being who came down to obtain the Fa in order to save the sentient beings in the cosmic system he represents is not only unable to obtain the Fa because of the evil old forces’ interference and sabotage, but has also gone to the opposite side of Dafa --- how dreadful this is! Our clarifying the truth is to give those sentient beings an opportunity of being saved. We cannot let the sentient beings that are waiting to be saved miss the opportunity because of our lack of understanding of the Fa.

Master Li says in “The North America Lecture Tour”(unofficial translation), “Therefore, the people at that place called China, forget the fact that he may not appear to be much, it was caused by the great deal of karma in the recent times. Although this layer of skin is no longer that pretty, the substance inside is quite significant. Let’s think everyone – if the sentient beings there were destroyed, how frightening that would be. Regardless of whether it is those that they represent or their own corresponding dimensions and sentient beings, they are all major groups of lives.” During the Fa-rectification process, Master treasures every single life, quietly endures the karma committed by the sentient beings who have become degenerate throughout history, and painstakingly saves each and every person who is savable. In “Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference”, Master Li says, “As Fa-rectification cultivators, we can’t just watch these innocent beings get deceived like this into sinning and be destroyed. This is because once this matter ends, the next stage of human history will begin, and many bad beings will be weeded out.”

There are all kinds of people who join on-line chat rooms, from all levels and all kinds of professions. I treat all of them as the sentient beings I should save. Perhaps the ones I deal with everyday are very likely the lords and kings of celestial bodies at very high realms. Even if some came to sabotage the Fa, if they can realize their wrongdoings and want to obtain the Fa, they are also beings to be saved under Master’s infinite compassion.

3. Sincerity and compassion can touch people’s hearts.

I gave myself a name, Ah-Hui. The “hui” is the Hui in the word “MingHui.” (Clear Wisdom). Many people on-line came to chat with me. Sometimes, I had to talk to 3 or 4 people simultaneously. If I maintained a righteous frame of mind, I was able to clarify the truth in depth and people were willing to listen. Some even thanked me at the end. But when my attachments surfaced, such as being attached to talking to more people, the results immediately suffered. It manifested as not being able to talk to several people at the same time, and people were not willing to listen or they were not agreeing with me. I then understood that clarifying the truth is tightly connected with the cultivation of our Xinxing. I straightened out my frame of mind, made myself clear based on my understanding of the Fa about why I’m clarify the truth to them, and maintained a compassion from within. Then my heart calmed, wisdom arose, and more people came to chat with me. At the same time, I also developed a trust with many people in the chat rooms. We became friends. It just may be because Dafa disciples are becoming more mature in the Fa, or that they could feel my sincerity; many of them call me sister. They said they feel close to me and like chatting with me. Later, I changed my name to “Ah-Hui sister”. Some people introduced “Ah-Hui sister” to their friends.

The most important thing in using the Internet chat-rooms to clarify the truth to people is sincerity not technique, and the connection of hearts not flowery words. I met all kinds of people on-line: military personnel, students, policeman, managers, salespersons, hairdressers, computer programmers and so on. Their life experiences are all different, the subjects they want to talk about are different, and the things they care about are also different. But no matter who they are, I’m able to find a transition into discussing what I want to discuss that proceeds from their angles. I feel that a Dafa disciple is an enlightened person who knows the truth of the universe. “Master the Fa principles well and illusions can be shattered.” No ordinary people’s topics should appear difficult to us, it’s just the opposite -- we can give them the righteous understanding that’s closer to the Fa principles of the universe. In fact, what we’re doing right now is creating the future for mankind. Some people want to talk to me about a heartbreaking breakup, conflicts with their spouses and so on. So I explain to them the Fa principles about marriage and family in a language that they can understand. Some people have lost interest in life; I explain to them why humans are humans and talk about the purpose of life. Some people are interested in the social system of western countries; I then talk about morality and the role of faith. But no matter what I say, in the end “all rivers return to the sea”, and I’ll always bring the conversation back to the truth of Dafa. Many of my on-line friends think I’m different because of my sincerity, openness, and righteousness.

I remember I once chatted with a high-school student. The first time we chatted, I felt that he didn’t know what he wanted to talk about, so I took the opportunity and gradually showed him the government’s slanderous lies and explained to him the concept of freedom of religion. Then I let him read some Dafa truth-clarifying material and told him that he’ll have a bright future if he follows “Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance” to conduct himself. I told him that he should be truthful, kind, and considerate to others and when encountering conflicts, he should learn to forbear. He replied “okay.” Some days passed and he found me in the chat-room again and called me “Falun Gong sister.” I didn’t quite remember him so I asked how he knew me. He said he had chatted with me before and tried to conduct himself according to what I told him and that he felt pretty good. He later said that he wants to be a tree in his next life because a tree wouldn’t be separated from the things surrounding it. I told him that humans are the most precious beings because they have very high origins, unlike trees, which are created on earth. This made him think about the origin of mankind and the true purpose of one’s life. I showed him some parts of Lecture One in Zhuan Falun. He was very interested after reading it and wanted to read the original book. He wanted me to send him a copy of the book. When he knew I would keep my word and send him the book, he said to me, “Knowing you is the greatest honor in my life. I’m just so happy today.” Actually, it’s the side of him that knows things, that is looking for the Fa and is forming a predestined relationship with the Fa. A being is saved. I was so moved. Perhaps it’s not just one life but the sentient beings that correspond to his body that he represents.

There was another girl. After finding out where she was from, I asked if she knew about something that happened in her city. She said she didn’t. So I sent her some cases of the persecution that took place in her city. She was very sad after reading them and couldn’t believe it was true and showed great sympathy to Falun Gong. Everytime she logged on, she would greet me. Sometimes when I was busy, she’d just wait for me quietly. As long as I sent her truth clarifying material, she’d read them one by one and even forwarded the websites and news to her good friends. I sent her an electronic copy of Zhuan Falun. She said she would read it. I could feel that she was waiting for me to introduce the Fa to her.

There were also those who are poisoned by the evil lies. When running into this kind of situation, I usually try my best to lay out the facts to them and avoid arguments. If the person is difficult to talk to, I ask for his phone number and talk to him on the phone. In most cases, I’m able to remove his thoughts that resist Dafa on the phone. There was a police academy student. After I introduced Falun Gong to him, he said a soldier’s duty is following orders and he didn’t want to comment on the subject. Although he had some prejudice about Dafa, he still wanted to make friends with me. So he gave me his phone number. I called his dormitory and spent a lot of time talking to him about the truth and my personal opinions about life, matter, faith, and human rights, among many others. Gradually, I gained his trust and the evil lies were self-exposed without much effort. I said to him, “Although a soldier has to follow orders, it depends on what order it is and if it is against your conscience. Governments also make mistakes. When the government wants you to do bad things against your conscience, as a person with independent thinking, you should not help bad people to do bad things.” I also told him many policemen in China no longer follow those wrong orders and are doing things based on their own judgment. He was inspired by what I said.

There were also times when I ran into Internet police and spies. They weren’t interested in talking but would say all kinds of nice things trying to obtain information about practitioners. These people are easy to identify. I usually treat them the same and tell them the truth, tell them the principle that doing good will be rewarded and doing bad will bring about retribution. I also told him the names of those evil beings in their regions and told them that we compile a list of the names of all the evil ones who persecute practitioners, advising them to stop helping the evil by hurting others and take responsibility for themselves.

4. Clarifying the truth on the Internet is equally important.

Nothing is a mere coincidence in the process of Fa rectification. With the rapid growth of the Internet in China, more and more people visit Internet chat-rooms. Is this phenomenon coincidental? According to the latest information released by the US Company, Nielson/NetRating on April 22nd, there are 56 million Internet users who log on the Internet from home in China. The number of people who log on the Internet from their homes in China is second only to the number in the U.S. Although the average daily living expense in some parts of China is not even $2, the number of people who surf the Internet at home has far exceeded all countries except the U.S., isn’t this phenomenon worth our thinking over?

Master said in his poem, “Just a Play”

“The sky serves as curtain
        the ground as stage.
The Cosmos moves,
        Heaven and Earth open.
Everything through the ages,
        has happened for the Fa.
Falun turns, renewing the three domains.”

I understand that the popularity of the Internet and chat rooms in China is just a stage setup for our clarifying the truth. It is to serve the Fa. Our using the Internet to clarify the truth to the precious Chinese people is the process of us assisting Master in “turning the Falun” and creating the new heaven, the new earth, and new humans: the “three new domains.” Its meaning is profound. While clarifying the truth on the Internet, we directly face tens of millions of poisoned Chinese people who need our salvation the most. Isn’t the significance of this great? While we don’t have a lot of financial means, the Internet has provided us an inexpensive channel for information exchange.

Sometimes clarifying the truth on the Internet appears to be tedious, insignificant, and mundane. Some practitioners slowly gave up and went to do things that they think are more important. Some other practitioners think they don’t know computers so they don’t do it. And of course, there are also the various kinds of Internet blockades, which have all created certain difficulties. Some of the difficulties have already become interferences that affect the results of our clarifying the truth, making our determination waver. Therefore, if we cannot overcome the interference from our own notions and understand Fa from within the Fa, we’ll miss this opportunity to clarify the truth even though tens of millions of people are waiting for the truth on the Internet.

To break through the Internet information blockage, we need to first of all reject the old forces’ arrangement in its entirety and use our righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil. Clarifying the truth via the Internet has a higher technical requirement than clarifying the truth via telephone or mail. But many elderly practitioners who had never touched computers before have all learned it quickly. Actually, the technical part is not difficult. What’s difficult lies in how we understand Fa’s requirement for us, how much faith we have in the Fa, how we improve our Xinxing, how much we understand the need to clarify the truth on the Internet, and how much responsibility we show toward the sentient beings we should save. To stop doing or give up after encountering technical difficulties is also a form of interference the evil old forces have used in keeping us from clarifying the truth. To break through the information blockage, we should first of all break through our old notions that the old forces have forced upon us. These notions have blocked our righteous thoughts. Dafa will give Dafa disciples infinite wisdom. I believe we are able to break through these mental and technical blocks and do a better job in clarifying the truth to Chinese people.

The truth is, many beings got exposed to Dafa and have known the truth in chat rooms --- they are already changing. Through our effort, we can tell that the environments of the on-line chat rooms have been cleaned up a lot; bad thoughts in people’s heads have been eliminated tremendously; more and more people are getting closer and are understanding Dafa better. But, there are still hundreds of millions of people waiting for the Fa, waiting for us to eliminate the bad/poisoned thoughts that resist Fa. Our responsibility is significant and undeniable.

For the return of the Lords and Kings of different cosmic bodies at different levels, for more people to be saved during the Fa rectification period, for being worthy of Master’s compassionate waiting, there is no attachment and personal notions that we’re unable to give up. Let us take each step well and truly fulfill the responsibility of each Dafa particle at this precious moment and save more sentient beings.
