[PureInsight.org] When arriving at work today, I returned something borrowed from a colleague who works at the canteen. She invited me for breakfast. Although I had breakfast at home already, I thought it was free anyway so accepted the invite. I took a cup of milk, a steamed bun and an egg. After finishing them up, I noticed some pain inside my lip. I investigated with my finger and found a lump inside my lip about the size of a broad bean.
I was puzzled, “I did not eat anything hard. What caused the lump then?” It might be that I should not have over-eaten the free food. Plus, I am a practitioner, so I had to endure the consequence. It is the same principle that good is rewarded with good, and evil meets evil. This is a universal law and we have to obey it too. The lump inside my mouth was due to my greed. As I was thinking about this, I touched my lips with a finger and felt the lump was smaller than before.
As I continued to walk, I kept thinking about this and realized all conflicts or problems we are facing come from the bad deeds we did in the past, including those in previous lifetimes. By then, I touched my lips with the finger again and found the lump had disappeared. It was indeed miraculous. I remembered reading an experience-sharing in Zhengjian Weekly in which a practitioner described the long-term bad attitude of her husband. One day in a half-awake state, she saw the conflicts with her husband in previous lives. From that she understood where the problems came from. Thus she stopped complaining about her husband and the family was harmonious. She was very thankful that Master helped her solve this.
I thus came to understand that all our financial status, suffering, or illness came from our own behavior in the past. Therefore, we should not complain about the bad attitude of others or the problems encountered. In Zhuan Falun, Master said, “It is because ordinary human society is supposed to be this way. Birth, old age, illness, and death are just such conditions. They all have karmic reasons and are of karmic retribution. You must repay the debt if you have it.”
