[PureInsight.org] A while ago, practitioner A asked me to help buy a laptop for practitioner B to make truth-clarification materials. I went to the computer store, looking for a computer that met the specifications outlined by practitioner A.
A few days later, practitioner A arranged for someone to pick up the computer. After that, I went to practitioner A's house. Practitioner A told me that practitioner B did not want the brand of computer I bought, which has a safety issue. Practitioner B also said I did not get a receipt after I bought the computer, so she suspected I got a kickback from it.
I was not moved upon hearing what practitioner A said. I told practitioner A, “I can't get a refund; the 7-day return policy has passed. I will exchange it for another brand. But she has already used the computer for a while...” Practitioner A said, “The computer is used for making truth-clarification materials, as long as the computer can be used, it does not matter if it's old or new.” After I came home, I contacted practitioner C, exchanged the new computer I had just bought with practitioner C's older computer, and brought the older one to practitioner A's home.
A few days later, practitioner A came to me again and said, “Practitioner B said that the computer was too old to be used.” Practitioner A smiled and told me, “This is for you to improve xinxing.” Without thinking, I said, “This is not about improving xinxing, it is interference.”
So, I took practitioner C's computer back to practitioner C and retrieved the new computer. I went back and forth. Because I had purchased the computer more than a month ago, and there was no good reason to return it, it was impossible to return. Then I contacted an ordinary friend and depreciated the new computer I bought by 1,200 yuan and sold it to her child.
After this incident, some practitioners said that practitioner B was simply not as good as an ordinary people, who was unreasonable. Some practitioners said this incident happened to help me get rid of the attachment to doing things....
After this incident, I kept thinking: Through this incident, what was my attachment? Did I really get a kickback? No. Didn't I want to help practitioners? I have tried my best to do things for truth-clarification. Did it happen to help me improve my xinxing? Has practitioner B's behavior moved my heart? No... I did not think the above questions were the issue, then why did this happen? I had no idea but asked Master to enlighten me.
One afternoon, Master's Fa in the Lecture One of Zhuan Falun suddenly appeared in my head, "Yet as the number of lives increases, a collective form of social relations develops in which some people may develop selfishness and gradually their level will be lowered. If they cannot stay at this level, they must drop down further.”
I felt that Master was pointing out to me that I had selfishness in-group relationships, but I did my best to do things arranged by practitioners. Which part of me was selfish? I was even more confused.
At this time, my 5-year-old granddaughter yelled from outside the house that she wanted to drink water from the new cup. When my son took out a glass cup for her, I suddenly realized my problem—the glass cup.
At the time I was paying for the computer, I asked the boss, "Isn't there any gift for buying one of your computers?" The boss brought me a glass cup and said with a smile, "This cup is worth 30 yuan!" Seeing that the boss only brought out one glass cup, I said, “A single cup doesn't look good, pairs look better. How about another one?” The boss did not hesitate to give me another one. When I brought the computer to practitioner A, I thought that I asked the boss for two glass cups, so I did not need to give them to practitioner A, so I kept them at home.
At this point, I remembered that practitioner B said that I was taking advantage and getting kickbacks. Wasn't that right? If I did not buy a computer, would the boss have given me two glass cups for no reason?
Master said in Sage from Essentials for Further Advancement, "He is on a Providential mission in this world as well as in heaven above. He has bountiful virtue and also maintains a benevolent heart; he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details. With broad knowledge of the laws and principles, he is able to unravel uncertainties. Offering salvation to the world and its people, he builds up his merit naturally.”
Although the two glass cups made me lose 1,200 yuan for my attachments, I was able to find the root of the problem and interference. I was very pleased. I sincerely thank practitioner B for exposing my selfishness.
