[PureInsight.org] One day my sister told a story about my father. He understands the truth about Falun Gong, enjoys watching New Tang Dynasty television (NTDTV) and clarifies the truth wherever he goes. One day he went out of town and heard some people discussing Falun Gong. One person said, “Falun Gong is good. Don’t carelessly say bad things about it.” When my father heard this, he walked up to them and said, “My sons and daughters all practice Falun Gong.” This person immediately grasped my father’s hands and warmheartedly invited him to his home. When they arrived, this person served my father some hot tea and was very respectful towards my father, and asked him to discuss the truth about Falun Gong in detail. My father began clarifying the truth about the Tiananmen self-immolation and the evil CCP, as well as recount recent news and commentaries from NTDTV.
When I heard about this, I suddenly had a new understanding about the Chinese proverb “Gold cannot be pure and people cannot be perfect.” I also changed my prejudiced views about my father.
Growing up, I always had prejudice towards my father. I always thought that his “compassion” was not true compassion. My father never meant anyone harm, but his compassion was only directed towards people he liked; he was even willing to die for them. But he did not attend to his family much. I never understood his behavior and was deeply intolerant of him. However, one thing about my father was most valuable: after he understood the truth about Falun Gong, he became like live media, clarifying the truth wherever he went. He had no fear and discussed it with anyone he met. Beings who understand the truth are most valuable. How could I continue to be obsessed with my own opinion?!
People do not have just one lifetime, but have lived many lifetimes, while ignorantly committing many bad deeds amidst delusion. Today, people have come to the world again; how can they just be happy without repaying karmic debts? Karma manifests itself in different ways, which is why different people have different personalities, temperaments, characters and traits. With notions formed after birth, especially under the poisoning of the CCP culture, people tend to look at others’ shortcomings rather than look inwards at themselves. When conflicts arise, people use the mentality of deception, evil and struggle to view others as worthless, and find ways to prove their own correctness and wisdom. “Gold cannot be pure and people cannot be perfect” can relate to people lacing themselves with gold to appear noble and understanding of human nature.
If one does not have correct thoughts to guide oneself, one cannot improve one’s realm of mind or thoughts. One will not suddenly obtain insight when faced with problems. Ancient people had traditional culture to guide themselves and looked inwards when faced with problems; for example, there are the sayings, “Emulate those better than oneself” and “On seeing a man of virtue, try to become his equal”. The proverb “Gold cannot be pure and people cannot be perfect” is filled with understanding of human nature, and of forgiveness and tolerance.
What you see as wrong may not necessarily be wrong. With retribution, you pay back in this lifetime what you owed from previous lifetimes. What is wrong with that? If it were not like that, one would not be able to repay karma. Carefully pondering this proverb, I realize that it inspires people to think about the meaning of life, as well as the relationship between life and the universe.
In order for one to obtain one’s own understanding in this dimension of delusion and return to one’s compassionate nature, one must fundamentally let go of the evil CCP’s culture and understand the truth about Falun Gong. Those with the proper circumstances should read Zhuan Falun (Falun Gong’s main book). Under the guidance of the universe’s characteristics Zhen, Shan and Ren (truthfulness, compassion, forbearance), one can eliminate one’s opinions and assimilate to these characteristics. Then one’s notions will gradually change fundamentally. One will have a new understanding of the universe and of lives.
