[PureInsight.org] The following
story happened while promoting the Shen Yun (Divine Performing Arts)
performance. I was very touched when a lay Buddhist expressed her
understanding about the performance.
A month before the Shen Yun performance, I received a phone call from a
lady asking for information. I gave her a brief introduction and
advised her to learn more on the website. I also told her that people
who have watched the performance came from all walks of life, from
high-class to common people. All of them spoke highly of the
performance.
Two weeks later, she called me again. She said, "I would like to buy
two tickets." After we chatted for a short while, she told me that she
wanted to buy four tickets instead of two. She wanted to pay by credit
card and asked me to charge $2000 to her card for the tickets and a
donation. She told me that the donation was her contribution to support
the Shen Yun performance. She said, "I don't know you or your Master,
but I can tell that the Shen Yun performance is very good. It is
different from ordinary performances; it is produced by a supernormal
being. The music, dance movements, and gestures came from the heavens."
During our chat, she twice increased the amount of her donation, and
increased the number of tickets from four to twelve. Upon hearing that
we had a DVD available from the 2006 performance, she immediately said
that she wanted to watch it. I asked a fellow practitioner who lived in
her area to help deliver the DVD to her home. I also asked the fellow
practitioner to make a special Shen Yun introductory DVD for her. Both
of us were very satisfied with the specially designed DVD.
A few days later, she called me again. To my surprise, she told me that
the introductory DVD was not good. She said, "The introductory DVD is
too brief for me to grasp a full understanding of the Shen Yun
performance. I have to watch a full version to achieve that. In the
past few days, I've been watching the DVD of the 2006 performance again
and again. I've been cultivating for more than 20 years, but still
couldn't resolve some of my cultivation issues. I was puzzled and lost.
It was hard for me to progress in my cultivation. However, after I
watched the Shen Yun performance, I suddenly became enlightened and
have broken through all the puzzles. I have watched the DVD so many
times that my player broke. I can feel the power of the music."
A few days later, she called me to order another twenty-four tickets.
She also made another donation. I delivered the tickets to her home,
where we chatted for a long time. She asked me about the ticket sales
and was a bit worried when she heard about our slow progress. She said,
"Master is compassionate and enlightened. The Shen Yun performance is
so special that it aims to save human beings from everlasting
perdition. It is not for human beings' entertainment. Shen Yun is a
priceless treasure that Master offers to people. As long as people go
to the theater to watch the performance, they are saved. At least, they
have created an opportunity for salvation later."
She continued to say, "It's not because I'm rich that I help buy more
tickets. I feel sad that many tickets have not been sold yet. The
performance is going to start in three weeks time. My heart is bleeding
and I've tried to help. Please hurry up and put more effort into
promoting the tickets."
She said, "I have done some research on music. I also produced some
performances in the past. I made full efforts on those performances
until my hair turned grey and I was exhausted, but they were far behind
Shen Yun. This performance is so special that no literature or other
things can compete with it. Get more people to watch it to be saved!"
She attended all five performances in Vancouver but refused any media
interviews. She said to me, "My mind is blank in this moment of truth.
I don't know how to express myself. I don't want to think or talk. I
just want to relax. I want my brain to have enough room to absorb and
experience the inner meaning of the music and dances. There are many
things hidden behind the music and dances. The inner meaning is
something that is taught in the book, Zhuan Falun.
I haven't come to completely understand them yet. Master is wonderful.
Look at these actors and actresses. They are still children but they
are terrific. Please pass on my appreciation to them. The performances
are wonderful. Religious people will understand one day... I believe in
no more than a year."
She also expressed her admiration and respect for Dafa practitioners.
She said, "You are very lucky. You are led by a Great Buddha. You have
to treasure the opportunity for cultivation. I've been cultivating for
more than 20 years but progressed very slowly. I read Master Li's Zhuan Falun,
in which Master so patiently teaches and guides you. You are really
very lucky. I was so ill-informed in the past to not hear about Dafa
until recent days."
The performance finished in Vancouver and went to another city. The lay
Buddhist lady heard about it and followed it there. She was pleased to
learn that it would be accompanied by a live orchestra.
