Misfortune or Fortune are Predestined

[PureInsight.org] On my way to
a grocery store this morning, I saw an elderly man lying on the ground.
A young girl had hit him with her car while he was riding a motorcycle.
The elderly man lay on the ground unable to move. It was a shocking
scene.

I myself have had several traffic accidents. I was grateful for being
blessed and protected by Heaven without suffering any misfortune. Human
life is so fragile; an accident can be fatal, but people are unable to
see through it. People always fight for fame and wealth in this human
world. I once had a colleague who was a talented young man with a
successful career. One day, he and his wife took their young son to go
shopping and had an auto accident. The couples died inside the burning
vehicle, leaving behind their son, who had a heart illness.

When we heard the news, everyone in the office were shocked and felt
deeply that it was a blessing when one was safe and sound. Actually,
there is nothing in this world worthy of haggling over. But people
often are forgetful. A short time later, they will forget how they felt
earlier and begin fighting with others again.

In order to live a happy life, people do not hesitate to harm others
for personal gain. When they harm others, they unknowingly create big
karma. When karmic retribution comes, it is a time of disaster and
suffering pain from illness. Those who do not understand or believe in
karmic retribution are not the smart people. When people do bad deeds,
the bad things will always return to them. The expression that "one
reaps what one sows" is so right.

Of course, some will say: "That person is a good man, why did he still
meet with misfortune?" But, if we move the time to previous
generations, we will find that the misfortune has something to do with
his previous lives. In other words, when one does a bad deed, one will
repay what one has done in future. I would like to offer a bit of
advice to those who are still rolling about in the world of mortals and
doing unconscionable acts: Be a good person and leave some good fortune
for your descendants.
