In Lecture 7 of Zhuan Falun, “The Issue of Treating Illness,” when talking about grabbing the being behind the illness by supernormal capabilities, Teacher said, “Suppose that someone has a heart disease. When this hand moves toward the heart to grab that being, the hand in another dimension moves inside the body, and it will be caught instantly. As your outside hand grabs it, both hands close in and will grab it.”
I realized that the god side of us is “the hand” in another dimension, and the other side of us that still cultivates in the human world is “this hand” in this dimension. During the course of Fa-rectification, “both hands” should cooperate with each other and move together to enable us to utilize our supernormal capabilities to effectively eliminate the evil. Conversely, if our human side restrains our god side, “both hands” can’t cooperate with each other closely. That means we have loopholes, and we cannot truly reach the realm of “joining the body and mind together,” which will undermine the power of our supernormal capabilities.
Teacher also said, “You claim that you can grab it. How do you grab it? You cannot reach it with your ordinary person’s hands. You may grab aimlessly there, and it will ignore you and laugh at you behind your back — grabbing aimlessly is so ridiculous” (Zhuan Falun). If one cannot be convinced of what Fa-rectification is and what a Dafa practitioner is during the Fa-rectification period and does Fa-rectification work based upon enthusiasm instead of Fa, it is the moving of “everyday people’s hands.” In this way, not only can we not even touch the evil, but we also expose our loopholes to the evil and allow it to laugh at us.
Through studying the Fa continually, we learn more and more Dafa principles. Based on the understanding of Fa, practitioners have their own opinions about which way to go and what to do when helping Teacher rectify Fa. However, if they think their minds are not pure enough and don’t want to take action until their minds are pure, I believe this idea is similar to the practice of simply chanting the name of the Buddha while doing sitting meditation. If they just want to wait until the moment when their minds are pure, their minds will never become pure.
Today’s cultivation and past cultivation are different because today’s is Fa-rectifying cultivation, and it is a dynamic process designed by Teacher. Teacher said, “The purpose is so that while doing Fa-rectification things, you clarify the truth, whereby you all bring in, for the consummation of your paradises, beings that can be saved. As you consummate your own paradises you are, at the same time, eliminating your last karma, gradually getting rid of your human thoughts, and truly stepping forward from humanness” (“Fa-rectification period Dafa Disciples').
Our thoughts and minds become more and more pure dynamically during the process of Fa-rectification. On the other hand, the purity in the lower level is impure from the point of view of a higher level. Therefore, when practitioners realize their minds are not pure, perhaps that is the time for them to make breakthroughs toward higher levels. Hence, under this circumstance, one should study Fa with a calm mind, look inward, and devote oneself to the dynamic process of Fa-rectification more energetically. In other words, this is truly the state where “both hands” cooperate with each other closely.
